The Rocky Mountain Expedition Club is an offroad & outdoor recreation club based out of the Colorado region of the Rocky Mountains. We have members in the Denver area, the Northern Front Range and on the Western Slope.
Unlike most offroading clubs, our focus is on the Journey, as much as the destination. Because of this, we tend to take less trips per year, however our “Expeditions” are planned well in advance and tend to be a bit more epic than your typical trail run. We do however try to incorporate “trail runs” into our Expeditions as well as historic sites and of course, we always make an effort include scenic locations. Some of our member do go on regular trail runs either on their own, or with other members, friends or other 4x4 Clubs that they are members of.
As a club we primarily focus on 4wheeling, camping, mountain biking, hiking and geocaching. We try to incorporate some, or all of them, into many of our trips. Our trips do primarily revolve around offroading & camping, but the combination of all of these activities is why we prefer the title of Expedition club, as opposed to just a 4wheeling or camping club. We truely try to make the most of our outings with friends & family.
Our club believes in, and follows, the trail etiquette standards set by Tread Lightly & Stay the Trail. Whether we’re camping, hiking, mountain biking or off roading in our 4x4 vehicles, we’re always making an effort to do it responsibly. We pack out at least what we packed in, and often times more than that.
Feel free to take a peek around our site and if you’re interested in joining R.M.E.C. or just want more info, click on the Contact Us page and fill out the form, we'll be in touch.
See you on the trail & around the campfire!
